I’m an orchestra manager, percussionist, and conductor whose career has been built equally on performance and artistic collaboration.

Currently, I serve as Orchestra Manager for Spoleto Festival USA, where I oversee the operations and personnel management that support the festival orchestra’s concerts, operas, ballets, and special projects during the annual festival season.

Before moving into arts administration, I spent decades performing as a percussionist and timpanist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, appearing in many of the world’s leading concert halls, including Carnegie Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Musikverein, and the Concertgebouw. During my time with the PSO, I participated in eight international tours and contributed to numerous recordings, including the orchestra’s 2018 Grammy Awards-winning recording for Best Orchestral Performance.

Alongside my orchestral work, I’ve performed in festivals, galleries, theaters, and clubs, collaborating with artists from across the classical, indie rock, and experimental music worlds, including projects involving members of R.E.M., Wilco, Yo La Tengo, and Big Star.

As a conductor and producer, I’ve led and developed projects for organizations including Arizona Opera, North Carolina Opera, North Carolina Symphony, and Duke Performances.

These experiences continue to shape how I approach orchestra management. Having worked extensively onstage and behind the scenes, I understand both the artistic and practical demands of large-scale performance — the preparation behind a rehearsal, the pressure of touring and production schedules, and the importance of building systems that allow artists to perform at their highest level.

At the center of my work is a simple belief: great performances happen when strong artistic ideas are matched by thoughtful preparation, collaboration, and trust.
